Terms of Service
By downloading or using Chatcam (the “Application”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.
Licence
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Application for personal chat and media capture on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Google Play’s terms (when installed from Play Store).
What Chatcam is — and is not
Chatcam combines chat-style contacts with a personal discreet camera for your own use. It is not a replacement for WhatsApp, Signal, or other messaging services, and it does not provide end-to-end encrypted messaging to other people’s devices.
Built-in chat replies are generated on-device by a simple assistant and are not professional, medical, or legal advice.
Responsible use and consent
You agree to use the camera feature lawfully and ethically. Do not use the Application to secretly record, surveil, or harass others. Obtain consent where required before recording people, conversations, or private spaces. You are solely responsible for your use of the camera and for any content you capture, store, or share.
Your data
Chats, contacts, and media stay on your device unless you share files through the system share sheet or another app you choose. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for any content you create or distribute.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Application, including attempts to reverse engineer, disrupt services, circumvent in-app indicators, or use it in a way that violates applicable laws or third-party rights.
Camera indicators
The Application shows in-app indicators when the camera is active (for example preview, “Cam on”, and recording status). Device-level behaviour may still vary by manufacturer and Android version. Do not rely on the Application to hide camera use from the operating system or other apps.
Biometric lock
Optional biometric or device-credential unlock depends on hardware and Android settings. The Service Provider does not guarantee unlock availability on every device.
Third-party services
When distributed through Google Play, availability, updates, and refunds are subject to Google’s policies.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Application is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, unauthorised recordings, or misuse of captured media arising from your use of the Application.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms published at https://mheek-apps.com/chatcam/terms.html.
